Wayside Fire Company History

A proud tradition since 1937!

The Wayside Fire Company was originally founded in 1919 as Wayside Community Club.  Then, on November 25, 1921, the members of the Wayside Community Club organized a Fire Company as a subsidiary to the Club and called it the Wayside Community Club Fire Company. All members of the club that were in good standing were made members of the Fire Company.

The original building was at 900 Green Grove Road on the triangle corner of Green Grove Road and Wayside Road. The building was built in 1964 and was somewhat undersized; housing just four small bays to hold the equipment and trucks.

The Wayside Fire Co. provides a variety of services designed to support the primary goal of preserving the lives and property of the citizens of the community of the BORO OF TINTON FALLS from the traumas of fire, accident, sudden illness, and natural or man-made disasters. These services include emergency responses, fire prevention actions, and public relations designed to reduce these traumas. The department runs an average of 360 fire calls per year.

The fire company covers Fire District 1 (the south end of the Boro of Tinton Falls), having its boundaries at Highway 66, Route 33, Collingswood Circle, Shafto Rd, and Hope Rd.  Wayside Fire Company currently has a list of 27 members and some openings for new members.  Its meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month.  Help us to help you!
